Privacy policy

Qty Calculator respects your privacy and handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

Account details: your name, business name, email address and a securely hashed password.
What you save: jobs, measurements, client names and addresses you choose to enter, your rates, business details and logo.
Billing: your subscription status and history. Card details are handled by Stripe and we never see your full card number.
Messages: what you send us through the contact page.
Technical information: sign-in times, IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the Service working.

How we use it

To run your account, save and sync your jobs and produce your quotes and exports.
To process subscriptions and send receipts and important account emails, such as password resets and price-change notices.
To answer your questions and provide support.
To keep the Service secure and stop misuse.
To send product updates, only if you've opted in. You can opt out any time from your Account page or the link in the email.

We don't sell your personal information or use your jobs for advertising.

Your customers' details

If you enter details about your own customers, such as names and site addresses, you're responsible for having their permission to do so. We store that information only to provide the Service to you.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the Service: our Australian web host (VentraIP), Stripe for payments and an email provider for account emails. Stripe may process information outside Australia under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Storage and security

Your data is stored on servers in Australia. Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, and access is limited. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your information while your account is open. You can download your jobs or delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deleting your account removes your jobs and settings straight away. Backup copies are cleared within 14 days. We may keep limited billing records for as long as tax law requires.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores your sign-in token and a working copy of your jobs in your browser so it can run quickly and keep working if you lose signal.

Access, correction and complaints

You can see and update most of your information in the app. To ask for a copy of your information, request a correction or make a privacy complaint, use the contact page. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
