Terms and conditions

These terms apply to your use of Qty Calculator at qtycalculator.com.au, including the website, the web app and any related services (the Service). The Service is provided by Qty Calculator (we, us, our). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. Your account

You must give accurate details and keep your password secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
You must be at least 18, or using the Service for a business you're authorised to act for.
Tell us straight away through the contact page if you think someone else has used your account.

2. Estimates are a guide only

Qty Calculator produces estimates from the measurements, products, depths, waste factors and rates that you enter or import. Results depend on the accuracy of those inputs. You are responsible for checking every measurement, quantity, price and quote before you rely on it, order materials or send it to a customer. Quotes you create are between you and your customer.

3. Plans, trials and subscriptions

Free plan. Free to use with the limits shown on our pricing page, including a limit on saved jobs and a Qty Calculator footer on printed quotes.
Free trial. New accounts get 30 days of Pro features at no cost. No card is needed. When the trial ends your account moves to the Free plan unless you subscribe. We don't charge you automatically at the end of a trial.
Pro subscription. Pro is billed monthly or yearly in advance in Australian dollars. Prices include GST where it applies. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
Founding member price. The first 100 subscribers pay the founding member price shown at sign-up. It stays the same for as long as that subscription remains active. If you cancel, or the subscription lapses, later subscriptions are at the standard price.
Cancelling. You can cancel any time from your Account page. You keep Pro until the end of the period already paid for, then move to the Free plan. Your jobs are not deleted.
Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any change to the price of your subscription. The change applies from your next renewal after the notice period. You can cancel before then.
Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number. If a payment fails we may pause Pro features until it's fixed.

4. Refunds and your consumer rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

Apart from those rights, we don't generally refund part-used subscription periods when you cancel or change your mind. If you've been charged in error, or forgot to cancel a yearly renewal and contact us within 14 days of the renewal without having used Pro since, we'll refund it. 5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service, try to get around plan limits, access other people's accounts or data, or interfere with how it runs.
Don't upload anything unlawful, harmful or that you don't have the right to use.
Don't resell or copy the Service, or use automated tools to pull data from it, without our written permission.

6. Your data

You own the jobs, measurements, drawings, logos and rates you put into the Service. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the Service for you. You can download your jobs or delete your account at any time from the Account page. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal information. Keep your own copies of anything important.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available and to fix problems quickly, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control. We may change or improve features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part of your current period.

8. Third-party products and files

Qty Calculator can read and write files used by other products, such as Moasure, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Punch! Landscape Design. Those are trademarks of their owners. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by them, and we can't guarantee every file will open exactly the same in every program.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. To the extent permitted by law, and apart from those guarantees, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost jobs, wasted materials or errors in quotes caused by incorrect inputs. Where our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

10. Suspending or ending accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after giving notice where reasonable. If we close a paid account without a breach on your part, we'll refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. We may update these terms from time to time and will show the date of the latest version at the top. If a change materially affects you, we'll let you know by email or in the app. Questions? Use the contact page.
